Nothing but the Truth (Theme)

        I think that the theme of Nothing but the Truth is to stand up for what you believe in. The first example of the theme is when Philip Malloy thought that he should be able to sing the  National Anthem because the school wasn't letting him, so he made a big deal.  He made everyone all around the United States talk about how the school wasn't letting him sing the National Anthem.  Philip stold up for himself because he thought that it was the right thing to do.  Another example of the theme to stand up for yourself is when Mrs. Narwin thought that she should get the money for the conference.  She didn't give up until she was told that she did not need to go to the conference.  They told her no and she kept sending emails.  The last example of the lesson to stand up for themselves is when Philips's dad was getting yelled at by his boss by something he didn't do.  He did not stand up and he got blamed for something he didn't do.  If he did stand up for himself them he would have not gotten blamed.  After reading Nothing but the Truth I know that the theme of the story is to stand up for yourself.
